Jennifer Swihart

has worked for over 20 years in book publishing. She began her career at Lynn Goldberg Communications and then went on to hold senior publicity positions at Doubleday, Scribner, Putnam/Riverhead and HarperCollins. Authors she has represented include Suze Orman, Michael Crichton, Cindy Crawford, Bill Bryson, Bob Dole, Eleanor Clift, TV producer David Simon (The Wire, The Deuce), and notable journalists Frank Bruni (New York Times), Franklin Foer (Atlantic), and John Cassidy (New Yorker).

Emma van Bergen

 

 

 

is a publicity assistant at Fortier Public Relations. Prior to joining Fortier, she worked as an editorial intern for Tule Publishing where she evaluated manuscripts. She subsequently interned in the adult literature department of McIntosh & Otis, Inc. where she collaborated with literary agents throughout the acquisition and editorial process.

Emma completed the Columbia Publishing Course at Oxford and graduated from Duke University with a Bachelor of Arts in English and a minor in photography. While at Duke, she served as marketing chair of the feminist publication Muse Magazine.

Outside of publicity, she continues her work as a portrait and entertainment photographer. Recent projects include a photojournalism study capturing the experiences of southern Jews and a photo series about the intimate practice of perinatal healthcare.

In her free time, she enjoys making afternoon tea, watching Jeopardy, and hiking with her wheaten terrier, Lana.

Matt Wendler

is the New Business Director and Proposal Writer for Fortier PR. He draws upon a long career in media relations at agencies including Ruder Finn and Dukas Linden. His mission is to understand clients’ goals, plan a corresponding strategy, crystallize our ideas in a proposal, and ensure a seamless onboarding process at the earliest stages of a publicity campaign.

In previous roles, he secured interviews in media like Bloomberg, Business Insider, and CNBC for executives and business leaders in finance and healthcare. His experience includes writing bylined articles and thought leadership content for executives at large companies including Pfizer, Lonza, and Biogen.
